Entering April, the price of TV panels continued to rise, and the price of large-sized TV panels hit a new high in this cycle. According to research data released by TrendForce Consulting on April 8th, the average price of 65 inch TV panels in early April was $172, an increase of $1 compared to the previous period.
In an interview with Securities Daily, Qiu Yubin, Vice President of TrendForce Consulting Research, said, "Against the backdrop of panel companies driving up the turnover rate of TV panels and increasing market supply, the overall upward trend of TV panels remains unchanged, and the current profitability of related products is better than the same period last year."
Overall, the demand for brand end procurement has gradually recovered this year, with LCD TV panel prices stabilizing in January, rising in February, and expanding in March and continuing until early April.
BOE A and TCL Technology, the "dual leaders" of LCD TV panels, recently received institutional research. Regarding the price trend of TV panels that investors are concerned about, BOE A said, "The price increase of LCD TV panels is expected to continue to expand in the future." TCL Technology said, "The industry supply and demand relationship is expected to further improve."
During an institutional survey, BOE A stated, "As we enter the second quarter, the holding of large-scale sports events is expected to further stimulate the recovery of demand for TV panels. In addition, due to factors such as shortages of some upstream raw materials, it will further increase the expectation of price increases for LCD TV panels, and high price expectations will further drive up brand procurement demand."
TCL Technology stated, "Throughout the year, the trend towards large-sized TV panels remains strong, with stable growth in demand area, while supply side production capacity remains orderly, and the industry's supply-demand relationship is expected to further improve."
Liang Zhenpeng, an institutional consultant at Zhifan Coast, stated in an interview with Securities Daily that "panel manufacturers in China have gradually achieved on-demand production to enter the market. Large size panels have been on the cost line since the second half of last year, and as prices continue to rise, industry chain enterprises are expected to benefit."
The trend of large screen TV panels has injected vitality into the market. The downstream demand area of the panel industry is driven by both demand and average product size. Although the overall shipment volume of the global color TV market remains stable, the penetration rate of the large screen and giant screen TV market continues to increase.
A reporter from Securities Daily learned during a visit to a Shenzhen electrical appliance store that consumers tend to choose large-sized televisions with a better viewing experience when purchasing televisions. A salesperson from a certain TV brand told reporters, "In the past, 85 inch large screen televisions were purchased by a small number of consumers. Now, with the advancement of technology, prices are becoming more affordable. 85 inch televisions have become the choice of more and more consumers, and many even choose 100 inch ultra large screen televisions."
The layout of panel companies in the field of large-sized TV panels is also increasing. Qiu Yubin told reporters, "Major panel manufacturers are expanding their layout of products over 80 inches. 85 inches, 86 inches, 98 inches, and 100 inches have become the top production capacity planning priorities for domestic and foreign manufacturers, which will help to further increase the average size."
TCL Technology has publicly stated that "the global demand area is expected to maintain a stable increase."
